Your Visit to Your Sister's Closet

When scheduling your appointment, you'll be asked a few quick questions to help us prepare for your visit. We’ll inquire about your clothing and shoe sizes, if you need a bra, hygiene or period products, a purse or bag, and whether you're employed or job searching. If you have any specific requests, such as a certain color for dress pants, sleeveless tops, or button-ups, you can let us know. This information is shared with our staff and volunteers to ensure we have the right items ready for you.

Your appointment will take place at the YWCA Southern Arizona building, located at 525 N. Bonita Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85745. We are situated west of the I-10 and the Santa Cruz River, between Congress Street and St. Mary's Road. For those using public transportation, we recommend Sun Tran Bus Route #3W (St. Mary's and I-10) or Route #21W (El Rio Neighborhood Route). For the latest schedules, please visit SunTran.com.

Upon arrival, please check in with the front desk. Appointments generally last about one hour, during which our Your Sister’s Closet staff and volunteers will help you find clothing that fits your unique needs. Please make sure to arrive on time; unfortunately, if you are more than 10 minutes late, we won’t be able to accommodate you, as appointments are booked consecutively.

If needed, you may receive a follow-up call or email from our case management staff to discuss any further services or additional programs that may be helpful for you.

How?

Donations can be brought into the lobby of the building. If the North/North-Westside gate is open, you may pull around to the side of the building where you will see a door and "Your Sister's Closet" sign. From here volunteers and staff will help you unload donations. All donations are tax deductible. Please fill out the designated form with volunteers and staff to receive an email receipt and acknowledgment letter of your donation.

You can also make a cash donation to support Your Sister's Closet by supporting our general fund. This allows volunteers to make purchases based off the needs of our clients and community. For example, volunteers may decide to purchase new bras or hygiene products - items that are not donated as frequently.
