Mission Statement

Pima County Teen Court's mission is to positively engage youth through restorative justice,

law related education, and positive peer influence to reduce juvenile crime.

The mission of the YWCA Southern Arizona, the non-profit organization that sponsors Pima

County Teen Court, is eliminating racism and empowering women.

Be a Part of the Solution

Pima County Teen Court is a diversion program for minors that have been arrested and have admitted guilt to their crime. These teens choose to be sentenced by a jury of their peers instead of going through the juvenile justice court system. All participants are teens, except for the judge.

Why Teen Court Works

Teen Court works because teens are judging other teens. Just as peer pressure can be negative, with Teen Court positive peer pressure and parental involvement are key to the program's success!

Because Teen Court is a diversion program, upon successful completion, the defendant will not receive a conviction on his/her record.

Pima County Teen Court is not a government entity. It is a program of the non-profit agency, YWCA Southern Arizona.
