Your Sister’s Closet Volunteer Opportunities

Your Sister's Closet (YSC) provides clothing appropriate for job interviews, in an attractive and supportive environment, to women who are seeking employment – empowering them to interview with confidence.

Volunteers are needed throughout the week to assist with client services as well as clothing intake and inventory management.  YSC also accepts donations of clothing, accessories and personal grooming products on Mondays from 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Client Services Volunteers

This is an opportunity for personal interaction with YSC clients.  In a boutique-like setting, you will work one-on-one with clients selecting interview appropriate clothing, shoes and additional accessories.  Client appointments last approximately one hour.  Volunteers are needed to help with client services Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Clothing Intake/Inventory Management Volunteers
Volunteers are needed on Mondays from 9:00am to 5:00pm to accept clothing donations and manage the inventory of clothing.  Volunteers meet donors in the YSC receiving area, help transfer clothing from vehicles to the YSC storage area, provide receipts to donors, sort through the clothing and select desirable professional attire.  Volunteers also press and organize the clothing in the storage area as well as stock and maintain the appearance of accessory displays in the boutique area.

Donations
Clean, fashionable women’s clothing, accessories and shoes, in good condition, are needed.  Clothing must be appropriate for job interviews.  YSC also accepts  donations of perfumes, toiletries and personal grooming products such as shampoo, make-up and deodorant.  Donations are accepted on Mondays from 8:30am to 5:00pm.  If you are interested in organizing a clothing drive at a business or organization, please contact us.

Skills Required
  • Must have good customer service skills.
  • Must be willing to work independently.
  • Must be willing to handle and sort through donated clothing.
  • Must have a desire to help empower women.

This is an ongoing opportunity.  Volunteers are needed for a minimum of 4 hours per week, Monday-Friday during business hours.
